I can still remember the first time I saw her. She was a banner ad adrift on my old friend Mark Larsen’s “Mark in the Morning” home page, broadcasting the clever way she carried his show around the world to an audience of smartphones.

I was jealous of their relationship and vowed to make her mine.

“Relax, Romeo,” Larsen said. “We can share her.”

Okay, I exaggerate a little, but ever since Mr. Media Radio joined the vast programming available on the free Stitcher mobile phone app, it is virtually the only app I use. Stitcher has introduced me to shows I now can’t live without, including “WTF with Marc Maron,” “The Business with Kim Masters,” “Doug Loves Movies” with Doug Benson “Jay and Silent Bob Get Old” with Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, “Roots Rock Radio” and “Stuck in the 80s” with my friends from the St. Petersburg Times, Steve Spears and Sean Daly.

On the news side, I subscribe to hourly CNN and MSNBC updates, as well as daily updates from InsideRadio.com. Oh, and I love my daily snippets of comedian Chelsea Handler on “Chelsea Lately”!

I listen to it whenever I’m walking the dogs and alternate between it and Howard Stern when I’m in the car—high praise, indeed!

My wife falls asleep every night listening to her favorite Stitcher programming — apparently to drown out my snoring. (Or is that too much information?)

Anyway, I love Stitcher. So to thank the folks behind this great online radio service—and to hopefully induce more of you to try it out—I’m producing a series of special Mr. Media interviews featuring some of my favorite Stitcher hosts. Today, my guests are two of the Stitcher programming directors, Rachel Eaton and Matty Staudt; in the days to come, stay tuned for comedian Marc Maron, host of “What the Fuck with Marc Maron” and Emily of “Sex with Emily.”
